2027 Chevy Silverado vs. Ford F-150: Which Truck Fits Life in Prescott?
If you're shopping for a truck in Prescott, the local numbers show a pattern. CarEdge's August 2026 data puts the midsize Toyota Tacoma first among new vehicles sold in Prescott, with 54 sold in 45 days. Among full-size trucks, the F-150 sold 14 and the Silverado 1500 sold 9. Across Arizona the order flips: the Silverado outsold the F-150 statewide (976 to 944) and in Phoenix (215 to 98).
That tells us Prescott shoppers want a truck that fits: capable, easy to live with and no bigger than it needs to be. Both full-size trucks are updated for 2027. Chevrolet has fully redesigned the Silverado 1500, and Ford has refreshed the F-150 with a new base engine and hands-free towing. This page compares what each maker has published so far, and points you to the Colorado if you'd rather go smaller. We don't list prices here.
What are Prescott truck shoppers looking for?
Look at who is shopping. Prescott has about 47,000 residents, a median age near 58 and, in our ZIP code, a median household income around $72,000 and median home values above $500,000. These are established households, and the Tacoma's lead says they favor trucks that are capable, dependable and manageable.
Here is how the 2027 Silverado fits that:
- It comes in the size you need. Chevrolet offers three cab sizes and seven trims, from the Work Truck to the High Country. Want something smaller? The Colorado is Chevrolet's midsize pickup.
- It is easier to live with. Every trim has a 16.3-inch center screen and a 12.2-inch driver display, and the ZR2 and High Country add a head-up display.
- It offers more help on the road. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance is standard on the High Country and ZR2 and available on the Silverado and Trail Boss.
- It has options for what you tow. Chevrolet lists up to 13,700 lb of maximum trailering, and the F-150 lists up to 13,500 lb.
Local figures are from third-party sources and may change. Features vary by trim.

What helps at Prescott's elevation and on mountain roads?
Prescott sits at about 5,400 feet, and the roads around it climb, from the grades on Highway 89A over Mingus Mountain to Yarnell Hill. If you tow a trailer or load up for the weekend, these are the Silverado features to ask about:
